Charles House is a medium secure hospital for people with mental health needs currently contracted and working in partnership with Greater Manchester West Foundation Mental Health Trust. Charles House offers specialised care for an all male client group with a range of mental health issues in a modern purpose built unit. The hospital accommodates 24 patients in a very spacious and therapeutic environment. The unit is equipped with the latest security devices including CCTV and nurse call systems.

The Hospital

Located in Salford, Charles House is an all male service supporting patients who are registered with Greater Manchester West Foundation Mental Health Trust. As a purpose built unit Charles House has captured a feeling of warmth and care, while exhibiting spacious facilities and a modern interior.

The Treatment

Charles House maintains a multi-disciplinary team, experienced in listening, understanding, and responding to patient needs. Charles House promotes Craegmoors’ communication strategy called “Your Voice” which ensures that each individual, based on their preferred method of communication, is able to have a voice on how their supported care is provided. Monthly service user meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of fellow service users. This is extended to a voice at area, divisional and national level. and national level. Charles House liaises with families, community organisations, social services departments and purchasing authorities to support Person Centred Care Planning, and ensures full account is taken of social, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs

The Facilities

Internal - Charles House has a range of therapeutic rooms including visitors suite, computer room, occupational therapy room, gym, group psychotherapy room and spiritual contemplation room. The unit is divided into two 12-bedded units and consists of three internal, secure gardens.
