Avon House

The Home provides 24-hour nursing care for the elderly, with at times, availability for respite care, pallative care and convalescence. The majority of rooms are single, with some shared and all possess en-suite facilities. It is our aim to ensure that the individual dignity and quality of life for our residents is maintained in a relaxed, personalised environment.

Care is provided within a friendly, homely environment, led by an experienced Home Manager, with a team of Registered Nurses and Care Assistants. We aim to provide a high standard of nursing care, designed to enchance the quality of life of all our residents. Each resident has an individual care package, specifically planned to reflect their personal needs and choices. A multi-disciplinary approach to care forms parts of the overall philosophy of care, with professional, friendly staff to answer any queries. Family and friends are encouraged to contribute to the care we give and to participate in the delivery of the care if desired. Support staff such as catering or cleaning all form an integral part of the care delivered.

There is an Activities Co-ordinator in post, who provides a planned programme of weekly events including local trips to such venues as The London Eye, London Aquarium, Chelsea Flower Show, to name but a few. In-house activities range from an afternoon of classical music, board games, sing-a-longs, quizzes, as well as very enjoyable bingo sessions. Birthdays are celebrated in style with lots of home made cake, sherry or wine!
