The home is situated in Teignmouth with easy access to local shops and amenities.
The Home
Tower House care home offers a warm and homely environment with opportunities for residents to extend and enhance the quality of their day to day living. The home has been tastefully decorated throughout with individual décor in each bedroom to meet the requirements and needs of each individual resident. We offer accommodation to 8 residents with learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and Autistic Spectrum Disorders. The home has a large lounge, dining room, kitchen, utility room and a tranquil, secluded garden. A key philosophy is that our residents maintain as much independence as possible and through the support and care can achieve their full potential in life.
The Care
The care at Tower House is delivered by a dedicated and professional multi-disciplinary team committed to providing quality care focused on the needs of the residents. Residents have an individual care package, specifically planned to reflect their personal needs and choices. A key worker is assigned to each resident ensuring a holistic approach to individual care and daily fulfilment. We work closely with local services such as the Community Learning Disability Team, Community Nurses, Psychologists, Speech Therapists, local health centres, dental, chiropody and other health care services.
The Facilities
Our activities co-ordinator organises a wide range of daily activities both in and out of the home which are planned in conjunction with the wishes of our residents. The residents enjoy swimming, horse riding, bowling, outings to pubs and shopping. College courses are available and include music, speech, cooking, relaxation, arts & crafts, dancing or gardening. Our own transport is used for visits to local places of interest. There is ongoing assessment of the resident’s needs and essential lifestyle plans are reviewed and monitored each month. They are also encouraged to keep their rooms tidy and do their own personal washing.
