How to find us

Situated in the much sought after West End of Newport, Preston Avenue is a large four bedroomed terraced house one mile from the busy new City Centre. The Home provides high quality care to four adults with learning disabilities.

The Home

The Home provides 24-hour support for four people with learning difficulties. With spacious communal living and dining accommodation and comfortable, private individual rooms, the house is fully double-glazed and has gas central heating. There are gardens to the front and rear including a patio area with barbecue and garden furniture. There are separate shower room, bath, toilet and utility rooms. The house has a friendly natural feel and provides a safe, comfortable environment for the residents.

The Care

Support is provided 24-hours a day by a dedicated and fully trained staff team who supply a client-led service to enable individuals to meet their personal goals. The support also includes help to maintain the residents emotional, physical and social well-being. The staff encourage and support individuals in gaining independence by helping them in developing daily living skills. Each resident has an individual Service Plan, which is regularly reviewed and updated and which aims to maximise their potential and their independence in the community.

The Facilities

The Home provides a number of in-house facilities based on resident’s requirements. A much wider range is provided in the local community and the City Centre itself. Residents enjoy barbecues, gardening and in-house craft activities as well as developing their home skills. They attend the local church, pubs and work in the local shops. The City Centre provides excellent sport and leisure facilities and a large modern swimming pool. There ia a range of day care and activity resources provided by the local council. Nearby there are also many places of interest including country parks, castles, a folk museum and seaside resorts, all of which are popular destinations for days out.
