Ardsley House and Cottage are residential Care Homes offering 24-hour care, supporting and encouraging adults with learning difficulties and complex needs to achieve personal independence. Local amenities including a post office, shops, pub and working men’s club are all within easy walking distance to the Home.

The Home

The property is a large, red-bricked, two-storey buliding, double-glazed throughout, comprising of 14 light and airy bedrooms divided between the two floors. Residents are encouraged to choose the decor and individualise their rooms and assist in choosing the decor for communal areas. Our south facing conservatory enjoys panoramic views of its rural position. The large lawned garden is split into two levels, raise flagged patio with supported fencing ensuring safety. Ample car parking is to the front and side of the building. There is also a single storey detached day care centre for residents use within the grounds.

The Care

Our team of staff are dedicated and skilled through appropriate training to provide 24-hour care to adults with complex needs. A full assessment and risk assessment form the basis of our individual care plans. Staff encourage, support and work alongside each individual to help acheive their own identity and gain important life skills. The rapport between residents and staff give a friendly, safe, homely environment in which to live.

The Facilities

Individual activity programmes are discussed with each resident and appropriate professionals on an annual basis. The programmes are monitored to assess whether their needs are being met. The activities available to residents include Adult Training Centres, Colleges and work placements; these are assessed following appropriate multi-disciplinary assessments. The on site day centre provides access to arts and crafts, cooking, bingo, either with in-house activity organiser or a college tutor, who visits twice a week. The social activities include listening to music, personal image, local walks, day trips, swimming, bowling and other activities that residents have interests in and wish to pursue.
