How to find us

Alexandra House Care Home provides care for younger adults with learning disabilities. The Home is situated conveniently close to local facilities, within walking distance of Gloucester town centre. The Home also benefits from good bus and rail links to nearby towns and cities.

The Home

Alexandra House is a sunny, well presented Victorian house. It features large bedrooms, with a good standard of decor throughout. Residents are encouraged to bring their own furnishings and belongings to personalise their rooms. Residents can further personalise their rooms by choosing the colour scheme soon after their arrival at Alexandra House. The Home stands in a large garden, with a secluded area away from the main house, where residents can safely take a stroll or relax, away from the bustle of everyday life. Close to the Home’s day room is a large patio area, where residents can sit in the shade and participate in assisted gardening.

The Care

We endeavour to provide our staff with up to date, research based training. Many of our staff are working towards their NVQ in care level two or three. Because of this, our staff are able to provide high standards of care, supporting residents in lifestyle choices. Our caring team provide a holistic approach to care, and residents are encouraged to make their own choices about their own lives. Residents choose everything from the colour they would like their rooms, to which pubs and clubs they go to. Eacg resident has regular assessments, and their two keyworkers assist them to access services in the community when required.

The Facilities

The emphasis at Alexandra House is on a relaxed lifestyle. Our activities organiser provides a full and varied activities programme including trips to the cinema, pub, clubs, and on outings to the town centre, safari parks and fairgrounds. The staff team also enjoy outings as much as the residents, particularly to the community and to the pub. Residents are also supported in daily chores and tasks around the Home, such as cookery and decorating.
