Winston House

We offer long-term and respite nursing care for 47 adults of all ages. We achieved a CQC rating of 2 star - good in November 2008. We offer a holistic, person centred approach to care and support, which is enhanced by our strong emphasis on social activities. We do have specialist equipment for those who use our services which include assisted bathing facilities; Parker baths and wheel in showers throughout the home.

Individuals are regularly involved in baking, card making, pub lunches and trips out.

Service facilities

Winston House is two large converted Victorian houses situated opposite the Marine Lake. The rooms at Winston House are as individual as the people who live here. We encourage our residents to personalise their rooms with special items of furniture, knick-knacks and keepsakes to help them feel at home.

Many benefit from en-suite facilities and fantastic views over the lake. We have a team of support workers to facilitate indoor and outdoor activities. We offer games puzzles and crafts in our dedicated activities room. We have an accessible bus for days out and holidays.

Our chef caters to all dietary requirements, and residents can get involved in our baking activities. To the front of the home there is a patio style garden where individuals enjoy sitting outside particularly for BBQs. To the side there is a more secluded garden with wheelchair access.

Surroundings

Winston House enjoys a prime location on Southport Promenade overlooking the Marine Lake and the Fylde coast beyond. It is situated minutes away from the town centre with its many accessible shops, restaurants and parks. There is also a variety of local leisure facilities including theatres, a cinema and bowling.
