Wingfield Road

Wingfield Road supports up to 5 people with learning disabilities. Everyone is involved in designing their own Person Centred Plan, with support from our friendly and dedicated staff team. Each plan is tailored to suit individual needs and provide the correct level of support required.

Overview of the Service

We have excellent links with local colleges and employers and encourage everyone we support to be involved in the local community.

Wingfield Road promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy, "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service. This is extended to area, divisional and national level.

What it's Like to Live Here

There are a wide range of activities to get involved with at Wingfield Road; both within the service and in the community. Everybody living here helps to choose and plan which activities are available and what they would like to do. A well established day care programme is available for individuals who wish to develop their daily living skills.

Within the house we continually and consistently promote the development of social skills, independent living and personal responsibility. This includes daily skills such as shopping, cooking, doing laundry and cleaning; tasks are dependent upon an individual's ability. The people who live here are very proud of their home as they have so much involvement in creating it.

Surroundings

Wingfield Road is situated on the main road leading into Trowbridge town, just a 15 minute walk from the town centre. The service is easily accessible by public transport, being close to bus stops and the train station. There are shops close by.

Facilities

Wingfield Road has 2 en-suite ground floor rooms, a 1 bed apartment and a 2 bed apartment, which provides everyone with private space and the opportunity to develop their independent living skills.

There are also communal areas and a communal laundry facility. The accommodation is designed to reflect the 'stepping stone' element of the service for individuals to learn and grow and eventually move into more supported living services.
