Willows Mountain Ash

The Willows provides nursing care for older people with mental health problems and provides support for people who have mental health problems who are over the age of 40. We provide person centred care packages to meet the needs of each individual.

Overview of Service

The Willows provides nursing care for older people with mental illnesses and also provides support for people who have mental illnesses and who are over the age of 40.

Our dedicated and caring staff team provide 24 hour support in a relaxed and homely atmosphere. We are also supported by physiotherapists, chiropodists, opticians, dentists and dieticians. Speech and language therapists are available, if required.

Each person has a comprehensive care package tailored to meet their individual needs, a named nurse and a key worker.

What it's Like to Live Here

We create and help maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We do this by positively encouraging regular interaction between residents and the local community. This includes contact with friends, former neighbours and involvement with local groups.

We encourage participation from families and friends through regular visits, involvement in special days and other events.

There are also an extensive range of activities which individuals can choose to become involved in. These may include gardening, producing life story books and going dancing.

We have a hairdressing salon so residents can have their hair styled on a regular basis. Fortnightly a therapist visits providing manicures and hand and arm massages.

The Willows is situated in Perthcelyn, in Mountain Ash and is on the bus route between Aberdare and Pontypridd/Cardiff.

Service Facilities

The Willows is a purpose built mountain top home. It has been tastefully decorated throughout and individuals are encouraged and supported to personalise their bedrooms.

The home has an airy lounge and a tranquil, fully enclosed garden, which offers a relaxing atmosphere and a quiet retreat.

Specialist handling and bathing equipment is available if needed.

Our in-house chef produces fresh, nutritious, homemade meals, catering for all medical diets and personal preferences.
