Westview

The service provided at Westview is intended to meet the needs of fully mobile individuals who have a learning disability and may have Autism or Prader-Willi Syndrome. Everyone at Westview is encouraged to develop their individual skills resulting in taking supported employment and working towards maximising independence.

Overview of service

We have staffing at Westview 24 hours a day. On 5th November 2007 we received a 3 star, excellent CQC rating and this has remained the same with our annual service reviews. We have also achieved our Investors in people award.

What it's like to live here

People at Westview have devised a cooking and cleaning schedule and these are followed every day. All individuals do their own washing with little staff support. As well as attend college or work placements. Individuals are fully involved in the up keep of the garden and this year grew their own vegetables.

All attend the RMVC where they socialise with friends and do bingo, art and craft, dance and movement, karaoke and line dancing. In the evenings pub trips, discos and special Olympics are arranged.

Surroundings

Westview is a large Victorian House in the heart of Folkestone, a harbour town on the south Kent coast. We can walk a short distance to the town centre, beach and harbour.The train station and bus station are within easy walking distance and motorway can be reach in a few minutes by car.

Service facilities

Westview is a large Victorian house and the environment is very tasteful and all decor chosen by those who use our service.

There is a calm and peaceful atmosphere.We have a mini bus at Westview but individuals are encouraged to walk or use public transport where possible.

The garden at Westview is well maintained and in the summer we hold barbeques.All help prepare and cook all meals and are fully involved in the ordering of food.
