Tower House

Tower House supports people who have learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and Autism. We aim to enable everyone to make their own choices about the support they receive. We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.

Overview of Service

Tower House supports people who have learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and Autism. The support is delivered by a dedicated and professional Multi Disciplinary Team, who are committed to providing quality support focused on the needs of each individual. 24 hour support is provided.

Everyone is involved in designing their own Person Centred Plan, with staff support. The plans are tailored to suit individual needs and provide the correct level of support required. They also enable people to make their own choices about the support they receive. We encourage and support everyone at Tower House to recognise and identify their goals and ambitions and how they would like to go about meeting them.

Tower House promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy, "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service. This is extended to area, divisional and national level.

What It's Like to Live Here

The people that we support are encouraged through their Person Centred Plans to achieve their goals and aspirations. For some people this means attending college to access various courses, including cooking, art and daily living skills. For others it means work placements and other day opportunities in line with their goals.

Within the service we continually and consistently promote the development of social skills, independent living and personal responsibility. This includes daily skills such as shopping, cooking, doing laundry and cleaning and tasks are dependent upon each individual's ability. The people who live here are very proud of their home as they have so much involvement in creating it.

Tower House is situated in Teignmouth and has easy access to local shops and amenities.

Service Facilities

The service has been tastefully decorated throughout and everyone is encouraged and supported to personalise their bedrooms.

The house has a large lounge, a dining room, a kitchen and a utility room. There is a tranquil garden for people to relax and socialise in.

There is also a self-contained flat within the service.
