At Torbrae we provide residential and nursing care for older people over the age of 65 with a range of age related illnesses.

What it's like to live here

Much emphasis is placed on how those who use our service like to spend their day so we prepare a weekly programme of activities tailored to individual choice and ability the activity being meaningful and in keeping with their lifestyles . Where possible we endeavour to maintain links with the community by arranging a programme of outings and visits using our own vehicle.

Surroundings

Torbrae Care Home is situated in Bogany Terrace in Castlemilk, Glasgow. The home is set up on a hill offering lovely views over the city and is very much part of the community. There is a good bus service from the city with both the number 75 and 5 services handy for the Home. There is a bustling shopping centre nearby and facilities such as the bowling Green, community centre and swimming pool are within walking distance. Rail and bus stations are approximately 4 miles from the home and can be reached by the bus service or by taxi.

Castlemilk is one of the largest areas of Glasgow and is a thriving community.

Service facilities

The accommodation is provided over two floors accessible by 3 elevators and there is access for wheelchairs and the disabled.

All bedrooms are personalised and have with en-suite facilities. A wide and varied seasonal menu which is developed by our chef who ensures that it is nutritionally balanced and takes into account the residents preferences.

  • Small quiet lounges off the main lounge/ dining areas.
  • Hairdressing Salon with our own hairdresser.
  • Satellite kitchens in each unit where residents and visitors can make a cuppa for themselves.
  • Gardens outside each house with seating and pathways for enjoying short walks at all times of the year.

Welcome to Torbrae, my name is Janis McRae and I am the manager. At Torbrae we provide support for older people who have Dementia. We have four different areas of care within the service and provide specialist services in two of these areas. If you would like to have a chat about the support we provide, we can arrange to meet with you at your convenience.
