We offer long term and short term support to 9 people with Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and sensory impairment.

Overview of the service

Staffing is provided on an assessed needs basis the support package that is set up will cater to each individual. The agency is able to provide support in a range of different environments e.g. a house of multiple occupancy, living alone or those that live with the family. All support that is offered is done with the individual needs in mind and is tailored though personal centred planning.

Supporting You in South Wales offer can provide 24hrs specialist support if required and also have a range of specialist equipment at hand such as track hoists and mobile hoists

What its like to live there

Those who use our service are involved in variety of activities on a daily basis with most attending a day placement or a work placement depending on their needs and preferences. Each individual is allocated a Key Worker who will work with each individual in a flexible manner depending on their needs.

Staff endeavour to assist individuals reach and achieve any future goals or aspirations that they may have. The support we offer can be anything from attending your work placements, learning and development courses, budgeting, daily living skills, cooking or just general community activities such as socialising, cinema and days out etc.

Surroundings

Supporting you in South Wales has excellent locations at present we are a short bus ride from the main city centre where there are first-rate shopping facilities, all transport links such as buses, trains and taxi are accessible to all and all run regularly. We are also close to nature to and have lovely scenic walks and views for the more adventurous and active person. We have all these amenities' close by cinema, bowling, theatres and Newport sports village where you can find a wide range of sporting activities for all to enjoy. Newport also is the host to its own castle which can be found in the city centre.

Service facilities

Presently Supporting you in South Wales have 2 services which consist of a 7 bedded bungalow which is situated in a quiet residential street just outside of the city centre the Service has ensuite facilities in all rooms with walk in shower rooms. This Service is adapted for wheelchair users so all the communal rooms and bedrooms have a great amount of space. All bedrooms are personalised by the individual. We have a large garden which can be accessed with an area that is sometimes used for BBQ in the summer months.

The second Service is a 4 bedded Town house in the City with 1 downstairs bedroom that is suitable for a wheel chair. The other three bedrooms are of good size with an upstairs communal bathroom/shower room. The Service has just had a revamp to which is of a very high standard.
