Sands

The Sands is a service for adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. The service provides care to three males with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. The aim of The Sands is to ensure that individuals lead a full and varied life, and are provided with a safe and secure environment whilst ensuring that their needs are met through an on-going strategy of goal-planning.

Overview of service

Everyone living here has the opportunity to discuss openly and frankly any issues concerning either themselves or members of staff and are kept informed of any changes which may occur.

What it's like to live here

Activities include bowling, horse riding, arts and crafts, computer, music and outings to cinemas or other local facilities.

Surroundings

Situated between Dymchurch and Hythe popular seaside resorts of Kent.There are local shops and cafes and a short walk to the beach and promenade.

It was built in the early 1970s. The Home is located on a private housing estateEnclosed garden with lawns and shrubs and flower bedsThe service has its own transport.
