Riverside Court

Riverside Court offers nursing and residential care for older people over the age of 65 years who have age related illnesses such as Dementia and physical difficulties. We provide tailored care packages to meet the needs of each individual.

Overview of Service

• 24-hour nursing care and specialist dementia care for up to 60 older people over the age of 65 years
• A comprehensive care package tailored to meet an individual’s needs
• Each individual has a named nurse and a key worker
• Our purpose-built home is divided into four houses: Avon, Shannon, Trent and Clyde
• Each house has single en-suite bedrooms, communal sitting rooms and dining rooms

Our staff

• Qualified registered nurses
• Support workers, 80% of whom are NVQ qualified
• Access to health services including a dentist, optician, chiropodist, GP and aromatherapist

Activities

Wide range of activities including gardening, producing life story books and going dancing. Participation from families and friends encouraged through regular visits, involvement in special days and other events. Weekly visits from a hairdresser. Fortnightly visits from a therapist for manicures and hand and arm massages.

Living environment

• A purpose built home, with easy access for people with physical difficulties
• Bedrooms are single; some have adjoining doors for couples
• Individuals are able to choose and decorate their rooms as they wish
• Hairdressing salon and two hydrotherapy rooms for relaxing and therapeutic sessions
• Two conservatory areas and sitting areas outside with a BBQ for warm, sunny days
• Peaceful rural environment near the Town Hall and St Boltophs Church in Knottingley village
• Close to the shops and a large supermarket
