Preston Private

Preston Private offers nursing and residential care for older people over the age of 65 years, with age related illnesses such as Dementia and physical difficulties. We provide tailored care packages to meet the needs of each individual.

Overview of Service

We support and care for 99 older people in 4 separate houses: Ladywell, Longsands, Durton and Fernyhalgh. We care for people who require social care, nursing care and specialist Dementia care.

Our dedicated and caring staff team provide 24 hour support in a relaxed and homely atmosphere.

What it's Like to Live Here

We create and help maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We do this by positively encouraging regular interaction between residents and the local community. This includes contact with friends, former neighbours and involvement with local groups.

We encourage participation from families and friends through regular visits, involvement in special days and other events.

There are also an extensive range of activities which individuals can choose to become involved in. These may include gardening, producing life story books and going dancing.

Every week a hairdresser visits the home so residents can have their hair styled on a regular basis. Fortnightly a therapist visits providing manicures and hand and arm massages.

Surroundings

Our home has been thoughtfully laid out and designed to suit the many and differing needs of the people who live here. It is a modern purpose built bungalow type building with all facilities on the ground floor, giving wheelchairs ease of access.

Service Facilities

We have landscaped gardens with fantastic views of the Lancashire countryside. Preston Private is on a local bus route and close to the town centre. Local shops are a 10 minute walk away.

Our landscaped gardens and sensory garden provide a peaceful area for residents to relax in.

We have a chef who caters for all dietary requirements and personal preferences.
