Parc Wern offers nursing care and continuing health care for older people who have age related illnesses such as Dementia.

Overview of the Service

We support and care for 58 older people who require nursing care or who have Dementia.

Our dedicated and caring staff team provide 24 hour support in a relaxed and homely atmosphere.

Each person has a comprehensive care package tailored to meet their individual needs, a named nurse and a key worker.

What It's Like to Live Here

We create and help maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We do this by positively encouraging regular interaction between residents and the local community. This includes contact with friends, former neighbours and involvement with local groups.

We encourage participation from families and friends through regular visits, involvement in special days and other events.

There are also an extensive range of activities which individuals can choose to become involved in. These may include gardening, producing life story books and dancing.

Every week a hairdresser visits the home so residents can have their hair styled on a regular basis.

Surroundings

The home is set in large, mature grounds and is situated in a semi rural location. From its elevated position it enjoys extensive views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. Ammanford town centre is 1 mile away, with shops, parks, bus services and a railway station. Parc Wern is approximately 4 miles away from the M4 and is within easy travelling distance of Swansea, Llanelli and Carmarthen.

Service Facilities

Parc Wern is built around a large, secluded and safe garden, with a beautiful copper beech tree, a patio and garden furniture. The purpose built accommodation is all on 1 floor providing a safe, comfortable, warm and homely environment. Individuals are encouraged and supported to personalise their bedrooms. Inner bedrooms look out onto the garden area, while outer bedrooms and lounges enjoy views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. The bedrooms at the rear overlook the rear garden.

The home has its own hairdressing room to accommodate the weekly visit by a qualified hairdresser. The large kitchen is well equipped and the chef caters for all dietary requirements and preferences.
