The support at Newhouse is delivered by a dedicated and professional multi-disciplinary team of staff committed to providing quality support focused on the needs of the individual. The establishment of high ratio staff ensures a highly supportive framework in which people can achieve their potential within a safe environment with dignity and respect. People have an individual support package, specifically planned to reflect their personal needs. Choice is paramount and individuals are actively encouraged to make informed choices and maintain independence. A key worker is assigned to each person ensuring a holistic approach to individual support and daily fulfilment. We encourage those living at Newhouse together with their families to actively participate in the planning of support, which is continually monitored. Standards and values are further promoted by ensuring that individuals are given positive choices. This is facilitated residents and relatives meeting where information is provided and views and suggestions are listened to and responded in a positive manner.
What it's like to live here
The Activities Co-ordinator organises a wide range of daily activities both in and out Newhouse, which are planned in conjunction with the wishes of individuals. People enjoy swimming, bowling, trips to cinema, outings to pubs, and shopping. College courses are available and include music and movement, communication and gardening. We also arrange holidays in the UK or abroad to interesting and sunny destinations. People are encouraged to pursue and retain their own interests. One-to-one support is provided where required and all activities are arranged to meet individual needs. There is ongoing assessment of needs and essential lifestyle plans which are reviewed and monitored each month. Individual's families are invited to come to the house and their support is valued by all at Newhouse.

Newhouse has been tastefully decorated throughout with individual décor to each bedroom to meet the requirements and needs of each individual. Newhouse boasts a large conservatory within a substantial airy lounge area, dining room, kitchen, utility room and a tranquil, secluded garden, which offers relaxing atmosphere and a quiet retreat. Individuals are encouraged to personalise their own space.
