Everyone living at Newhouse has varying levels of learning disabilities and are all supported by experienced staff who ensure their physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs are met.

A key philosophy is that those who use our service maintain as much independence as possible and through the support and care achieve their full potential in life.

The treatment at Newhouse is delivered by a dedicated and professional multi-disciplinary team. Everyone has an individual care package, specifically planned to reflect their personal needs and choices. A key worker is assigned ensuring a holistic approach to individual care and daily fulfilment.

We encourage individuals and families to actively participate in the planning of care, which is continually monitored. Standards and values are further promoted by ensuring everyone is given positive choices. This is facilitated through regular meeting where information is provided and views and suggestions are listened to and responded in a positive manner.

What it's like to live here

Those who currently use our service participate in swimming, bowling, trips to the cinema, outings to pubs, and shopping. College courses are available and include music and movement, communication and gardening. We also arrange holidays in the UK or abroad. Individuals are encouraged to pursue and retain their own interests.

Surroundings

Newhouse Farm is situated on the outskirts of Cardiff in the village of St. Fagans with easy access by road and bus, and a short journey to the nearest rail station.

Service facilities

The service is tastefully decorated throughout to meet the requirements and needs of each individual. The large conservatory and airy lounge offer a relaxing atmosphere and a quiet retreat and individuals are encouraged to personalise their own space. The light and airy conservatory allows individuals to take full advantage of the scenery.

There a lovely garden with panoramic countryside views and a secluded patio area. There is also a sensory garden with a fishpond.
