Millburn Homes supports adults with learning disabilities and provides a quality, needs-led service, with an emphasis on social inclusion and independence. We aim to provide a safe and homely environment, where everyone can make their own choices about the support they receive. We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.

Overview of Service

Millburn Homes supports adults with learning disabilities and provides a quality, needs-led service, with an emphasis on social inclusion and independence. We have an experienced and dedicated staff team and 1:1 support is provided where required.

Everyone has an allocated key worker and associate key worker to assist them in their day-to-day support and to enhance their life skills, depending on their needs. Millburn Homes has a policy of being at the forefront of new developments in learning disability support.

Everyone is involved in designing their own Person Centred Plan, with staff support. The plans are tailored to individual needs and provide the correct level of support required. They also enable everyone to make their own choices about the support they receive. We encourage and support everyone at Millburn Homes to recognise and identify their goals and ambitions and how they would like to go about achieving them.

What It's Like to Live Here

The activities co-ordinator organises a wide range of daily activities, both in and out of the service, which are chosen by everyone living here. People enjoy swimming, going bowling, trips to the cinema, socialising in pubs and going shopping.

College courses are available and these include music and movement, communication and gardening.We also arrange holidays in the UK or abroad to interesting and sunny destinations. The holidays are planned and chosen by those living at Millburn Homes.

Everyone is encouraged to pursue and retain their own interests. Individuals' families are invited to come to the house and their support is valued by all at Millburn Homes.

Surroundings

Millburn Homes is located in Cambuslang, which is situated on the outskirts of Glasgow. The service is set in a quiet residential area and has good transport links to the city centre. There are local shops, educational establishments, day care facilities and social clubs all within a short distance. We are close to the main motorway network around Glasgow and have easy access to numerous visitor attractions.

Service Facilities

Millburn Homes is made up of 2 purpose-built bungalows, both with their own individual facilities; kitchens, utility rooms, dining rooms, numerous bathrooms and lounges. Both have wheelchair access and spacious interiors.

Each bedroom is decorated to individual taste to ensure it is as homely as possible.

The gardens are also large and spacious and there is a large patio and BBQ area to enjoy in the summer months.
