Meadow View Rotherham

Meadow View is purpose built and supports 48 people. We specialise in the care and support of older people with physical disabilities, mental health problems and Dementia. We have recently awarded been awarded the Gold Standard by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, the first in Rotherham. Our current rating by the CQC is good.

Overview of service

We benefit from large attractive gardens with a fish pond, a small fruit orchard, patio, a secure courtyard garden with fruit trees which is surrounded by extensive lawns. The main view of the property looks on to open farm fields.

Our philosophy is 'Home from Home' supporting people to be as independent as possible, allowing the individual to choose how to live and to enjoy their stay in Meadow View in comfort, with security and with friends.

The individual and their family or friends are the best people to advise us on the support needed. Everyone is supported to develop their own Person Centred Plan. This ensures we understand fully the persons needed. This will be revisited on a regular basis.

All meals and snacks are prepared on the premises. We can cater for all dietary needs and tastes. The menu changes frequently and seasonal foods are chosen first. Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day and night.

What it's like to live here

There is a varied choice of activities at Meadow View. We have outside entertainers regularly visiting for activities such as karaoke or 'Active in Age'. Activities are based around personal choice and most things can be arranged. We do activities such as Nail art, computing and Wii activity games. Weather permitting we go on trips out for lunch and shopping or to other places of interest. Some pets are welcome, please discuss this with the Manager before bringing the animal to visit.

Surroundings

Meadow View is located in a residential area, with beautiful views of the countryside. Swinton train station is a twenty minute walk. By car under 5 minutes. Bus service under 5 minutes walk.

Service facilities

We have 47 single bedrooms and one double which is ideal for couples. Many people bring their own items of furniture to personalise their rooms and make them feel more homely.

We have a beautiful garden which can be seen from most rooms in the building. We also have a private garden which is lovely sun trap in the summer. Off the garden, there are two patio areas suitable for wheelchair access and a small fruit orchard.

Within Meadow View, we have a lounge, dining room and sensory room which we are in the process of further developing. We also have a hairdressing salon should anyone wish to have a quick cut.
