Maple House

Maple House provides 24 hour support for 6 adults with learning disabilities, Autism and/or challenging behaviour. We aim to provide a safe and homely environment, where all individuals can make their own choices about the support they receive. We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.
Overview of Service
Maple House provides 24 hour support for 6 adults with learning disabilities, Autism and/or challenging behaviour. 1:1 support can be arranged when needed.
All individuals are involved in designing their own Person Centred Plan, with staff support. The plans are tailored to suit individual needs and provide the correct level of support required. They also enable all individuals to make their own choices about the support they receive. We encourage and support those at Maple House to recognise and identify their goals and ambitions and how they would like to go about meeting them.
Maple House promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service.
What it's Like to Live Here
There are many activities to get involved in at Maple House, both in and out of the service. These include taking part in gardening groups, going horse riding, going swimming and playing tennis. There are also opportunities for individuals to develop their housekeeping, cooking and computer skills.
We are also close to Dover castle, which provides an enjoyable day out.
Surroundings
Maple House is a 10 minute walk from Folkestone town centre, which offers a wide variety of shops and facilities, including the local bus station.
We are 5 minutes walk away from the train station that boasts the new high-speed rail link to London in 40 minutes.
Ashford is only 20 minutes away and offers a large bowling alley, designer factory outlet and large shopping precinct.
We are also only 20 minutes from the port of Dover, which is great for day trips and also offers the famous Dover Castle.
Service Facilities
Maple House is an old period building with many original features; it has been decorated tastefully and provides a large living space. We have a large garden which is often used in the summer to hold BBQs and other social events. There is an in-house sensory room, which people are supported to use. Everyone is encouraged to personalise their bedrooms.
The weekly menu is designed with all individuals and is reflective of dietary needs and preferences.
