Fernhill Lodge

Fernhill Lodge provides a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for 11 older adults with learning disabilities to live and develop with the support of committed staff team.

Overview of service

Support is provided with a friendly and homely environment. All staff at Fernhill Lodge are committed to the care, support and development of each of the individuals. Emphasis is placed on the individual, ensuring that their needs are met and rights maintained at all times.

Each person has an individual care package, specifically planned to reflect their personal needs and choices. All staff are trained and this is regularly updated and refreshed.

People are encouraged and supported to live their lives to their fullest potential.

What it's like to live here

The service provides a varied selection of activities including bingo, arts and crafts, carpet bowls, singing reminiscence work and gardening as well as access to local colleges and community facilities such as libraries and theatres.

The garden is especially beautiful when participating in pastimes, such as cricket and bowls. Visitors are welcome at Fernhill Lodge and privacy is always respected. Individuals have access to the telephone to make their calls in private and support is given, if needed, to maintain family contact.

Close to local amenities, including shops, leisure and arts centres, health centres and rail and bus links.

Service facilities

Individuals are encouraged to develop their rooms with their own personal style to ensure the service had a homely feel, there is a Stair lift available for bedrooms on the 1st floor for easy access and a beautiful secluded garden with patio for all to enjoy the outdoors.
