Devonshire Road

Devonshire Road is a 5 bedded home for adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism, we have a staff group of 9 which means we have a minimum of 3 staff on duty in the morning, two in the evening and a waking night offering 24 hour care. We have at present a Good rating from CQC in September 2007 and are due a visit at any time when we hope to gain an Excellent rating.

What it's like to live here

Devonshire Road is a happy home where the people who live at Devonshire Road are encouraged to take part in activities and attend college where they learn: cooking, pottery, jewellery making and arts and craft. We also attend discos, afternoon teas and fun days organised by our area group called New Connections.

Surroundings

We are within 250yards of a Shopping Centre and all the Community activities and public transport, but we have our own people carrier so we have access to everywhere and go on at least one outing a week.

Service facilities

We have 5 people living at Devonshire Road and we are accessible to people with physical disabilities as we have one ground floor bedroom, all bedrooms are personalised and the people who live at Devonshire Road can bring their own personal belongings. All dietary needs are catered for by our chef and individuals can assist if they would like to. Devonshire Road is a Victorian terraced House only 8miles from central London and all that a big city offers.

We have an enclosed garden with a patio and BBQ, lawn and sensory borders which the people who live at Devonshire Road help to maintain.

A welcome from the service manager

Welcome to Devonshire Road, my name is Brian Hughes the Manager. Visitors are always welcome at Devonshire Road and would be shown around and introduced to all the people who live there, that are at home at the time as they attend many activities including days at college learning new skills as well as visits to parks, museums and day trips to the coast.
