Craig y Trwyn offers nursing and residential care for older people who have age related illnesses such as Dementia and physical difficulties.

Overview of Service

We support and care for 38 older people who have age related illnesses. Our dedicated and caring staff team provide 24 hour support in a relaxed and homely atmosphere.

Each person has a comprehensive care package tailored to meet their individual needs, a named nurse and a key worker.

What Its Like to Live Here

We create and help maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We do this by positively encouraging regular interaction between residents and the local community. This includes contact with friends and former neighbours and involvement with local groups.

We encourage participation from families and friends through regular visits, involvement in special days and other events.

There is an extensive range of activities which individuals can choose to become involved in. These may include gardening, producing life story books and dancing.

Every week a hairdresser visits the home so residents can have their hair styled on a regular basis. Fortnightly a therapist visits providing manicures and hand and arm massages.

Surroundings

Craig y Trwyn is situated in a beautiful setting between the villages of Wattsville and Brynawel, with views of the surrounding mountains. There is a regular bus service nearby and the railway station is only 2 miles away. The service is approximately 6 miles from the town of Blackwood.

Service Facilities

Craig y Trwyn has a small courtyard to the frontof the building over looking the mountains.

Staff encourage and support all individuals to personalise their rooms. There is also a dedicated chef who is happy to accommodate any dietary needs and preferences.
