Cotswold Lodge

Cotswold Lodge provides support for 8 people with learning disabilities. We offer lots of activities, including a day care service, which is an excellent place for making friends and having fun. We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.

Overview of Service

At Cotswold Lodge we provide support for 8 people with learning disabilities. We encourage self expression and individuality and enable people to live their lives their way. At Cotswold Lodge we specialise in a non-aversive attitude towards behaviours. Most of the individuals who live here have an Autism diagnosis.

All individuals are involved in designing their own Person Centred Plan, with staff support. The plans are tailored to suit individual needs and provide the correct level of support required. They also enable all individuals to make their own choices about the support they receive. We encourage and support everyone at Cotswold Lodge to recognise and identify their goals and ambitions and how they would like to go about meeting them.

Cotswold Lodge promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy, "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service. This is extended to a voice at area, divisional and national level.

What it's Like to Live Here

At Cotswold Lodge we have access to a day care service, 5 days a week. We can arrange any courses through our local colleges in either Folkestone, or Ashford.

Once a week there is a disco, which provides everyone with an opportunity to have a dance and to socialise. Everyone at Cotswold Lodge is encouraged to choose what they want to do on a daily basis.

Surroundings

Cotswold Lodge is situated along the sea front at Littlestone. All rooms either have views of the sea, or the golf course. There is a bus route about 400 yards away and everyone is encouraged to use public transport to go to Folkestone or Ashford. These towns have good shopping facilities and recreational services, as well as many cafés and restaurants.

Service Facilities

Cotswold Lodge has a large garden and patio area, suitable for BBQs, which are very popular in the summer.

Everyone is encouraged and supported to personalise their own rooms, to make the service as homely as possible.
