Charnwood Lodge

Charnwood Lodge provides support 24 hours a day for those with mental health problems and learning disabilities.

What it's like to live here

There are various activities that those who live at Charnwood Lodge get involved in. Some of these include days out to visit local attractions, bowling, cinema, college courses, swimming and horse riding to name a few.

Surroundings

Charnwood Lodge is located in the countryside. People living at the service access facilities within the community by the use of the service's vehicles, that are driven by the staff. We plan days out, holidays and social events that we help you to organise. On a monthly basis the service holds 'Your Voice' meetings, which are chaired by those who use our service and a member of staff. During these, social events are planned and we get to hear everybody's opinion about how our service is run and anything else that you may be concerned about. Any concerns you have or any improvements that need to be made can be taken to the Area 'Your Voice' meetings and raised again at the divisional meeting. These are held every three to four months at our Head Office.

Service facilities

Charnwood Lodge is a large building set in the extensive and well-maintained grounds with a small farm present. The service has a bbq area which is enjoyed by individuals in the summer months. There are also lounge and dining rooms with small kitchenettes. All bedrooms have washing facilities and there are 5 bathrooms.

A welcome from the service manager

Thank you for your interest in Charnwood Lodge. Charnwood Lodge provides an assessment and fast track primary service for adults with mental health problems and learning disabilities. Assessments are made by our senior staff and by other agencies and professionals. The environment that Charnwood Lodge offers is about 'real world' issues and responsibilities. By this method we can continue to work towards greater level of independence tailored to an individual's progress in community. We would hope that this will help improve self-esteem and provide the basic 'tools' to live in a more independent setting in the future.
