Charles House

Charles House provides support to males with a range of mental health problems. We accommodates up to 24 people in a spacious and therapeutic environment.

Overview of service

We are a Medium Secure Service working in partnership with Greater Manchester West NHS Mental Health Foundation Trust.

Charles House maintains a multi-disciplinary team, experienced in listening, understanding, and responding to individual needs.

All individuals receive medical, nursing & psychological input into their care, both in terms of assessments and interventions. Each person has access to a range of psychological assessments and interventions to help them to identify their psychological difficulties and work on overcoming them.

What it's like to live here

The Occupational Therapy department delivers a robust individualised therapy programme including: Cooking sessions, Educational Sessions, Self Care Sessions, Community skills, facilitation of College and further education courses, as well as, social skills to name but a few.

Charles House is situated in the Salford area of Manchester. It has extensive bus, tram & rail networks close by. The city of Manchester is only 4 miles away. There is extensive shopping in the local area of Salford and the wider Greater Manchester area. There are many facilities within this area to aid treatment and therapy, museums, parks, colleges etc.

Service facilities

The service has 2 vehicles which regularly provide transport to therapy sessions and appointments. We have a chef who caters to all dietary requirements of those who currently use our service. All individuals have their own bedrooms which they are asked to personalise to ensure a homely feel for all.
