Bryngwyn Road

At Bryngwyn Road we support individuals with learning disabilities. We are committed to encouraging and supporting individuals to develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible. As a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.
Overview of Service
Bryngwyn Road provides support for 5 individuals with learning disabilities.
We offer a relaxed and supportive atmosphere, where everyone is encouraged to lead a full and active life, by being as independent as possible.
Absolutely everything we do is guided by the people who use our services, their personal needs and the choices they make. We listen carefully to people and their families and carers. We learn about those important details that make a big difference.
We know that everyone is unique. For some, ordinary everyday experiences can represent extraordinary achievements. By encouraging people to take control of their lives and have a real belief in their own potential, we can make positive outcomes a reality for everyone.
What it's Like to Live Here
The people that we support are encouraged through their Person Centred Plans to achieve their goals and aspirations. For some people this means attending college to access various courses, including cooking, art and daily living skills. For others it means work placements and other day opportunities in line with their goals.
Within the house we continually and consistently promote the development of social skills, independent living and personal responsibility. Daily tasks to develop these skills include shopping, cooking, doing laundry and cleaning. Tasks are dependent upon an individual's ability. The people who live here are very proud of their home as they have so much involvement in creating it.
Surroundings
Bryngwyn Road is situated just outside the town centre of Newport. The local shopping centre is close by, as is the leisure centre, library, train station and bus station. The Adult Learning Services Centre is also close and locally there are pubs, parks, a bowling green and castle ruins to visit.
