At Blyton Court we support people living here who have a wide range of learning and physical disabilities. We support the people living at Blyton Court to lead an active and fulfilled life as independently as they would like.

Overview of Service

Blyton Court offers support for people with learning and physical disabilities. We are able to provide support from both qualified nurses and support staff.

We try to include everybody in all decision making which affects their daily lives. Blyton Court promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy, "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at Blyton Court. This is extended to area, divisional and national level.

All necessary equipment is made available to maximise movement and comfort, whilst maintaining safety regulations.

What it's Like to Live Here

Everyone living at Blyton Court has a wide range of social opportunities to choose from. The people that we support are encouraged through their Person Centred Plans to achieve their goals and aspirations. For some people this means attending college to access various courses, including cooking, art and daily living skills. For others it means work placements and other day opportunities in line with their goals.

Staff support people to get ready, if required, and some ladies living at Blyton Court enjoy make-up sessions, having manicures and having their hair styled.

Everyone decides which activities they would like to take part in.

Within the house we continually and consistently promote the development of social skills, independent living and personal responsibility. These include daily skills such as shopping, cooking, doing laundry and cleaning, and tasks are dependent upon an individual's ability. The people who live here are very proud of their home as they have so much involvement in creating it.
