Arden College

Arden College in Southport offers individualised programmes for learners aged 16-25 with learning difficulties or disabilities and autism/ASC.

We specialise in supporting young people with significant communication and behavioural needs, developing individual communication strategies that enable everyone to make the most of their learning opportunities.

Curriculum

  • Foundation Learning, independent living and communication skills
  • 38 and 52 week full or part time courses, starting throughout the year
  • Courses linked to external accreditation, leading to nationally recognised qualiications
  • Opportunities to develop vocational skills and gain real work experience
  • Extensive programme of social, leisure and sporting activities within the community

Facilities

  • Situated in a urban environment in a lively seaside town
  • Places for up to 70 residental and day learners
  • College-owned café, office, salon and horticultural enterprise to develop vocational skills and provide real work experience
  • Well established links with local employers to provide work placements in retail, catering and horticultural environments
  • Residential accommodation within registered homes in the local community, encouraging the development of independent living skills and social integration
