Addison Court

Addison Court offers nursing and residential care for older people over the age of 65 years, with age related illnesses such as dementia and physical difficulties.

Overview of the Service

We support and care for 60 older people in 3 houses: Whalley House, Baxenden House and Clitheroe House. Our dedicated and caring staff team provide 24 hour support in a relaxed and homely atmosphere.

Each person has a comprehensive care package tailored to meet their individual needs, a named nurse and a key worker.

What it's Like to Live Here

We create and help maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We do this by positively encouraging regular interaction between residents and the local community. This includes contact with friends, former neighbours and involvement with local groups.

We encourage participation from families and friends through regular visits, involvement in special days and other events.

There are also an extensive range of activities which individuals can choose to become involved in. These may include gardening, producing life story books and going dancing.

Every week a hairdresser visits the home so residents can have their hair styled on a regular basis. Fortnightly a therapist visits providing manicures and hand and arm massages.

Surroundings

The home is located on the outskirts of town, with only a short walk into the town centre and has good local transport links to the surrounding areas.

Service Facilities

Addison Court has a homely atmosphere and people who use our service are encouraged to personalise their own bedrooms with their furniture and personal items.

There is a large, secure garden for everyone to use and enjoy, which includes a vegetable plot, patio area and BBQ.

We have our own chef who caters for all dietary requirements, or individuals can be supported to make their own meals.
