The ordinary story of Rikki’s transformation

Rikki used to be reluctant to accept that he had a mental illness and struggled to cope. Eventually he became so ill that he had to be admitted to a Craegmoor medium secure mental health hospital.

Working closely with the team, Rikki came to accept his illness and realised that he had lots of people on-hand to support him whenever it was required. A trusting and supportive relationship soon developed with staff and this has enabled Rikki to turn his life around step by step.

He is now able to accept his illness and, as a result of a well developed support and medication plan, has very few symptoms. Rikki realises that he has a bright and independent future ahead of him so has taken a number of courses that will help him to find a job. Rikki has turned his life around so much that he is now set to move into a house in the community with the continued support and encouragement of Craegmoor.
