Health and social care day planned in east Yorkshire

 An east Yorkshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) is organising a health and social care day for people affected by learning disabilities. The event is aimed at people with a disability, their family and carers, and is scheduled to take place at the Tickton Grange Hotel in Beverley on Thursday July 3rd, reports the Beverley Guardian.It has been organised by the East Riding of Yorkshire PCT, the East Riding Council and Mencap and aims to remove some of the barriers that people with a learning disability face.The hosts of the event will all have representatives for visitors to meet and discuss issues such as reducing anxieties, increasing awareness of a healthy lifestyle and the importance of regular health checks.People with disabilities in East Anglia have been taking part in the annual RHS Oputa Games.Ipswich's Evening Star reports that 140 children and adults with various disabilities took part in a selection of specially-adapted games. © Adfero Ltd
