Shetland charity launches annual fundraising run

 A mental health charity in Shetland has announced the date of its annual fun run to raise funding for the cause. Mind Your Head is hoping to attract high numbers of participants for the annual event on August 3rd, reports the Shetland News.Shona Manson, chairperson of the charity, told the publication that the event is not just about raising funds but also increasing the awareness of mental health issues in Shetland."We are keen to encourage people of all walks of life to join us on a great day out for all the family and to think about ways we can all make an impact on our own, and others, mental wellbeing," added Ms Manson.According to the charity, the two previous fun runs have raised more than £9,000.Mind Your Head was set up in 2004 with money raised from the funeral of Gary Manson. He was a Shetland resident who suffered from mental health problems and struggled to get the support and treatment required whilst on the island. © Adfero Ltd
