Have a curry and care for a dementia sufferer

 A new scheme has been launched in Scotland to raise money for dementia care in the country. Care for a Curry? is an initiative by dementia charity Alzheimer Scotland and being supported by restaurateur Charan Gill MBE.Mr Gill, who appeared on Channel 4's 'secret millionaire' programme, told allmediascotland: "I've always admired the good work undertaken by Alzheimer Scotland and its campaigns to help people with dementia and their carers." Speaking about the event he added: "When I heard about its Care for a Curry? campaign I knew I had to get involved."The official launch of the Care for a Curry? campaign will involve an evening of Indian dining and then the public is urged to get together and have fund raising events at home or work, wherever a curry is involved.Mr Gill has already sponsored two dementia nurses £500 each, a sum which pays for a whole week of dementia care.Alzheimer Scotland estimate that between 58,000 and 65,000 people in Scotland suffer from dementia. © Adfero Ltd
