About Westbury Lodge
Westbury Lodge supports people with learning disabilities and mental health illnesses. We strive to support people to gain independence within their community, offering innovative solutions and opportunities to maximise their potential. The dedicated staff team are experienced and trained to support people to identify achievable goals and to use a fun, person centred approach.
Our approach to care:
The support at Westbury Lodge is delivered by a skills-led team of staff.
Westbury Lodge promotes "Your Voice" - Craegmoor's communication programme which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. We hold monthly meetings where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service.
What it’s like to live here:
Our service takes great pride in providing a wide range of activities for people to get involved in, which include in-house activities such as arts and crafts and baking. We also have close links with other local services, which have computer and sensory rooms individuals can use.
The people that we support are encouraged through their Person Centred Plans to achieve their goals and aspirations. For some people this means attending college to access various courses, including cooking, art and daily living skills. For others it means work placements and other day opportunities in line with their goals.
Within the house we continually and consistently promote the development of social skills, independent living and personal responsibility. This includes daily skills such as shopping, cooking, doing laundry and cleaning, and tasks are dependent upon an individual's ability. The people who live here are very proud of their home as they have so much involvement in creating it.
Westbury Lodge is situated in a quiet area of Westbury. There is a local shop nearby and a bus stop which is just two minutes away. There is a swimming centre and a small town centre within Westbury.
The local towns of Warminster and Trowbridge are both 15 minutes away and have good shopping facilities. The service is a five minute walk away from a train station, which individuals regularly use for trips to the city of Bath and the beaches, which are just an hour's train ride away.
