About Turketel Road

At Turketel Road we provide understanding and support for people with autism, learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge. We are a service which aims to support people to improve their daily living skills, so they can live more independently.

Our approach to care:

Every individual at Turketel Road is supported by a Person Centred Care Plan specific to their own needs. Due to our flexible staffing ratios, 1:1 support can be provided to individuals that require more support.

Everyone living here is treated as an individual, and has the choice and freedom to develop their abilities. Our aim is to maximise the potential and skills of everyone in our service, which we believe can be achieved by members of staff providing just the right level of support.

What it’s like to live here:

On a daily basis, individuals living at Turketel Road can access college courses, a sports centre and the local town facilities such as: swimming, bowling, shopping are and the cinema. We also have social clubs and discos held nearby.

The town centre is only a fifteen minute walk away, and the main line rail and bus links are close by. The local college is a ten minute walk away and there is good access to the beach and countryside.

“Staff knew the people well and had developed communication methods which enabled people to make their wishes known and allowed them to be understood.” – CQC report for Turketel Road

The home has six bedrooms which are personalised to each individual's preferences; there is access to computers/internet in all bedrooms. Other facilities on site include a sensory room, and outside we have a large back garden which is popular during the summer months.

All dietary requirements are catered for and everyone is involved with menu planning and food shopping.
