The Moorings

About The Moorings

The Moorings is a specialised service that supports six people with physical, learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. The Moorings is situated in Poole and is specially designed to support people with complex needs.

Our approach to care:

We encourage the people we support at The Dunes to personalise their rooms to their own taste as well as to take an active role in the running of the home. They are also able to put forward their own ideas about service through the “Your Voice” feedback programme.

The Moorings is in close proximity to The Shores, another Craegmoor service, which enables the people we support to join together for shared activities if they choose to.

What it’s like to live here:

People who currently live at The Moorings like to help with meal planning, cooking, cleaning, activity planning, socialising and gardening on a regular basis. Some of the people we support go on volunteer work placements and particularly enjoy this independence. The people we support enjoy an active lifestyle accessing the community for a wide range of activities.

The Moorings is also situated close to the local shops and bus routes in Parkstone.

“Craegmoor staff have helped me to understand myself better.” – Person supported by Craegmoor
