Rosehill Rehabilitation Unit

Rosehill Rehabilitation Unit in Torquay provides leading person-centred neuro-rehabilitation programmes that are bespoke to the severity and complexity of a person’s particular neuro-disability. This includes Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or neuro-degenerative conditions such as Motor Neurone Disease, or Multiple Sclerosis.

Our approach to support

Located in a quiet residential area, we provide rehabilitation for 15 men and women in a homely environment to develop a greater independence, and for those who are medically stable, reintegration into the community.

The service provides:

  • 15 mostly en-suite bedrooms including an apartment style living, two bedded annexe
  • Wet rooms with disabled access
  • Hydrotherapy bathroom with piped music and subdued lighting
  • Occupational therapy kitchen
  • Fully equipped gymnasium
  • Communal areas including lounges and activity rooms with computer access
  • Large gardens with decked area and views over Torquay
  • A choice of three vehicles adapted to provide wheelchair access to support everyone to use community facilities.

Situated close to local shops and amenities, and within easy reach of the coast, Rosehill’s facilities are designed to offer a transitional pathway through the service with progression into an apartment-style room and then to an independent living flat.

The service has 15 mostly en-suite bedrooms, a hydrotherapy bathroom, an occupational therapy kitchen, fully equipped gymnasium and lots of spacious communal areas for relaxation or activities, including large gardens with decked area.

As part of our individualised treatment programmes, we assess each individual for what they can do and how they have changed since their neurological condition. The support our interdisciplinary clinical team provide is based on this programme and includes:

  • Working on an individual’s personal care
  • Planning their day
  • Organising their finances
  • Looking at meal preparation
  • Managing different activities of daily living
  • Accessing the local community
  • Large gardens with decked area and views over Torquay
  • Looking onwards to where they can live in the future.

"If it wasn’t for Rosehill I wouldn’t be where I am today. You told me it would take 18 months and it did.” – Sophie*, individual supported by Rosehill Rehabilitation Unit
