Loughshore

Loughshore is a specialist autism service for people aged 18 years and over with a learning disability, who may at times present behaviours that challenge.

Located in the Jordanstown area of Greater Belfast, on the historic site of the former Lord Shaftsbury’s home, Loughshore is only six miles away from Belfast City Centre and in walking distance of local shops, parks and a beach. Major bus and rail routes into the city are also only a short distance from the home.

Our specialist staff team

Loughshore has an experienced and trained staff team that is managed by a dedicated full time manager and deputy managers.

The staff team have significant expertise in supporting people with autism and are supported by a dedicated positive behaviour support specialist, as well as our specialist autism leads.

The ground floor at Loughshore consists of 10 large, individually decorated bedrooms that all have full en-suite wet rooms. The ground floor operates in 2 separate elements splitting the 10 bedrooms into 2 areas consisting of 5 bedrooms.

Across the ground floor there are 4 large living rooms and 2 separate dining rooms. The modern fitted kitchens are also large enough to have space for another table and chairs. The garden on the ground floor is fully secure and accessible to residents.

The first floor comprises of 2 large bedrooms with a separate lounge and full wet rooms. These rooms have been designed with skills development in mind and include an Activities of Daily Living (ADL) kitchen designed to promote independence, whilst maintaining safety. All the furniture and fittings have been designed with the residents in mind, being robust and homely.
