About Georgina House
At Georgina House we support three people with learning disabilities, autism and Down's syndrome. We provide a safe and homely environment, where all individuals can make their own choices about the support they receive. We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.
Our approach to support:
We are passionate about enabling all individuals to make their own choices about the care and support they receive. Each person is involved in designing their own Person Centred Plan, with staff support and family input where necessary.
Georgina House promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy, "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the house.
What it’s like to live here:
There is a wide range of activities to get involved with at Georgina House, both in and out of the service. Some of the activities that people like to take part in include going bowling, horse riding, gardening, playing sports, bingo, meals out, going to the cinema and enjoying a drink at the local pub. We also go on many day trips, including visits to the seaside and the theatre. Some individuals attend college and/or work placements to develop further skills.
Georgina House is a 15 minute walk away from Luton town centre, which has good shopping facilities, train station, library, bowling alley and many good places to eat. There is a bus stop around five minutes away from the house, which travels directly into the town.
