About Elm Tree
Elm Tree House supports people with learning disabilities and people with early onset dementia. We promote independence and aim to provide a safe and homely environment, where each person can make their own choices about the support they receive. The support at Elm Tree House is delivered by a dedicated and professional team committed to providing support focused on the needs of the individual.
Our approach to support:
We believe that choice is paramount; people are actively encouraged to make informed decisions and maintain independence. A key worker is assigned to each person to ensure a holistic approach to individual support. We encourage individuals and their families to actively participate in the planning of support.
Elm Tree House promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy, "Your Voice". This exists to encourage people to voice their views about the support they receive either by means of our newsletter or through a meeting held on-site. These meetings allow everyone to represent the views and voices of others living at the service.
What it’s like to live here:
Everyone is given the opportunity to choose and become involved in a wide range of activities, both in and out of Elm Tree House. These include attending local day centres, colleges and work placements within the community.
Individuals are also encouraged and supported to access local leisure facilities such as the swimming pool, cinema and the theatre.
At Elm Tree House we continually and consistently promote the development of social skills, independent living and personal responsibility. The people who live here are very proud of their home as they have so much involvement in creating it; they participate in tasks such as shopping, cooking, doing laundry and cleaning to help out.
Elm Tree House is located in Keynsham, between Bristol and Bath. The service has good transport links and is easily accessible from the M4.
