Our approach to support:

Based in Stenhousemuir, Dunvegan provides a warm and homely living environment for people with learning disabilities, physical support needs, autism and challenging behaviour. The service also has dementia unit. Our aim is to promote independence and ensure that each individual supported here is given the opportunity to achieve the best they can.

Each individual has their own support plan which will detail exactly how they wish to be supported. Each person also has a named key worker who will spend quality time with them – and on a month to month basis will review their support plan to ensure that it continues to meet their requirements. At Dunvegan we recognise that every person is an individual with their own individual strengths. We support people with all aspects of their lives including education, employment and social activities whilst actively encouraging independence.

What it’s like to live here:

Each individual at Dunvegan is supported and encouraged to be an active member of the service. We operate our monthly ‘your voice’ feedback meeting which everyone is invited to attend. Each house has its own weekly activity planner which includes prize bingo, discos and quiz nights. We also arrange activities outside of the service which include bowling, party nights, concerts and visits to the cinema. People that live here enrol in college, whilst some participate in volunteer work. Hobbies including horse riding and swimming are encouraged with everyone offered the chance to go on holiday every year.

Dunvegan is situated between Edinburgh and Glasgow, with both easily accessible using public transport. We offer support through nine different houses, from a seven bedroom house to two bedroom houses - all ideally located for all local facilities.
