About Dolphin Lane

Dolphin Lane supports 15 adults with learning disabilities. We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.

Our approach to support:

Dolphin Lane is led by a passionate and highly trained team of staff, who are on hand to provide just the right level of support to allow individuals to live as independently as possible. Every person that lives at Dolphin Lane has a Person Centred Plan, which is tailored to their needs and wishes. Each individual is involved in identifying their goals and how they would like to achieve them.

After three months of living at Dolphin Lane, a formal review will take place to evaluate progress made and to discuss with the individual any changes they would like made, regarding the support they receive.

We also promote Craegmoor's communication strategy, "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive.

What it’s like to live here:

Everyone living at Dolphin Lane is fully involved in the running of their home, from cooking meals to keeping the house tidy. There are a wide range of activities to get involved with inside and outside the house, including going to the cinema, shopping or taking part in sport activities.

Family and friends are welcome to visit at any time.

Dolphin Lane is a detached house in the heart the village of Thorpe, located in Wakefield. There are shops nearby, as well as transport links that can be used on a local or national basis.

“Staff at Dolphin Lane helped me find a job so I can earn my own money and make me independent, I love it here.” – Person supported by Dolphin Lane

Dolphin House has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with dedicated staff who are constantly striving to help people to achieve their goals.

The house has three floors, two kitchens and three communal areas. There are eight en-suite bedrooms situated on the ground floor, with wheelchair access. On the first floor there are a further five en-suite bedrooms. We also have two transitional flats, both with en-suite and kitchen facilities.
