About Dinorwic Road

At Dinorwic Road we support three people with learning disabilities who may also have complex communication and behavioural support needs. We aim to provide a safe and homely environment, where everyone can make their own choices about the care and support they receive.

Our approach to support:

Our service is operated by a friendly and dedicated staff team who are passionate about helping people to acquire and develop skills that will allow them to live more independently in the future. We support each individual in the creation of a Person Centred Plan, which provides every person with the opportunity to express how much support they would like and at a level they need to enable them to live as independently as possible.

A Person Centred Plan also outlines the goals and aspirations of each individual, and the steps that are needed in order to reach these targets.

What it’s like to live here:

At Dinorwic Road, individuals are encouraged through their Person Centred Plans to achieve their goals and aspirations. For some people this means attending college courses to improve literacy and numeracy, and for others it means work placements.

Within the house, people will also be able to develop daily living skills by carrying out tasks such as doing laundry, cooking and cleaning. Individuals also get involved in the creation of household menus and go shopping to find the right ingredients.

Our service is based close to Southport town centre and has great access to local amenities like shops, pubs, a cinema and a theatre. There are also a number of parks and nature reserves in the area and attractions such as Knowsley Safari Park, a fun fair and the Space Port.

Everyone at Dinorwic Road has their own bedroom, and staff encourage and support people to personalise their rooms. Outside we have a large garden with a patio which is ideal for barbecues and picnics during the summer.
