About Devonshire Road

Devonshire Road is a five bedroom establishment for adults with learning disabilities and autism. We aim to provide people with the skills they need in order to live more independent lives both now and in the future.

Our approach to support:

Each person who lives at Devonshire Road has their own Person Centred Plan which outlines the ways in which they will work towards their goals and aspirations. A Person Centred Plan also helps members of staff to provide the correct level of support that an individual has specified in their most recent meeting; these happen on a regular basis to assess progress and identify any problems they might have carrying out certain tasks.

What it’s like to live here:

At Devonshire Road people are encouraged to attend college and take part in activities where they learn a range of skills, such as: cooking, pottery, jewellery making, and arts and crafts. New Connections - the local area group also organise a range of activities which include discos, afternoon teas and fun days for people staying with us.

Within the house, individuals enjoy getting involved in the preparation and cooking of meals. Everyone staying with us is proud of their home, and assist with many tasks such as shopping, cleaning and doing laundry.

Devonshire Road is within 250 yards of a shopping centre, with community activities and public transport links nearby. There is an on-site people carrier to allow people to access locations further afield; at least one outing is arranged each week.

“Craegmoor has helped me to understand myself better.” – Person supported by Craegmoor

Devonshire Road is a Victorian terraced house only eight miles from central London and all that a big city offers. There are five individual bedrooms, including one on the ground floor to accomodate those with a physical disability. Those staying with us are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms in order to feel more at ease.

There is an enclosed garden with a patio and barbecue, lawn and sensory borders, which the people supported by Devonshire Road help to maintain.
