About our service
Bohill Bungalows has been developed to provide care for up to 24 adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex physical disabilities. It will provide nursing support and a range of programmes to assist the development of independence and life skills. Individuals supported here will also have access to daily activities including arts, music, education, sensory and outdoor activities.
The homely and comfortable environment has been designed to enable person centred support and to assist people who cannot live in their own homes to maintain as much independence as possible.
Our approach to support:
Our service is run by an experienced manager, who is supported by a team of trained nurses and support workers. We believe in a multidisciplinary approach to support, which is why we work closely with other professionals including GP’s, medical professionals, speech and language therapy teams, dieticians, social workers, chiropodists, opticians, community psychiatric nurses and other specialist roles.
We hold the philosophy that each person should take the lead in their support programme. We understand that each person has different needs, interests and hobbies, which is why personal input is so important.
What it’s like to live here:
Bohill organises day trips to places of interest, as well as holidays that are further afield. Every person supported here is invited to suggest ideas for these trips at our regular meetings, which also provide individuals with the chance to provide feedback about their care.
There is a wide range of in-house activities including board games, with outings to swimming pools and other local facilities easily organised. We have a quiet room where individuals can access a safe and secure computer. Our life skills coach organises a range of daily activities both in and out of the service that are planned in conjunction with the wishes of the people supported here.
Situated in Cloyfin Road we are conveniently located near good public amenities including pubs, cinemas, cafes, swimming pools and the seaside. Bohill is easily accessible from the A29 ring road.
