About Blyton Court

At Blyton Court we support people who have a wide range of learning and physical disabilities. We support the people living at Blyton Court to lead an active and fulfilled life as independently as they would like.

Our approach to support:

Blyton Court offers residential support for people with learning and physical disabilities. We are able to provide support from staff in line with requirements set out in everyones' Person Centred Plans. We encourage each individual to play a major role in decision making which affects their daily lives, as well as outlining what their goals and aspirations are.

Blyton Court promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy, "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the service. We hold monthly meetings where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at Blyton Court.

What it’s like to live here:

Everyone living at Blyton Court has a wide range of social opportunities to choose from to achieve their goals and aspirations. There are local colleges which offer various courses such as cooking, art and daily living skills. Others prefer to access work placements and other day opportunities in line with their goals.

Each individual at Blyton Court decides which activities they would like to take part in. Some living at Blyton Court enjoy make-up sessions, having manicures and having their hair styled, whilst others prefer spending time outdoors. The nearest town is three miles away and is accessed by a local bus service. Within the immediate village there are shops, pubs and a park.

We currently have 18 people living at Blyton Court, who have a wide range of needs. All necessary equipment is made available to maximise movement and comfort, whilst maintaining safety regulations.

At Blyton Court the corridors are wide and appropriate for wheelchairs, and there is also a lift to the first floor to enable people to move around with ease.

Communal areas are large and airy and there is also a snoezelen room and also a separate activity room. Outside is a large, attractive garden area laid to lawn, with raised beds and sensory areas.

Admissions criteria:

Blyton Court may be suitable for those who meet the following admissions criteria:

  • Adults aged 18 years and over
  • Individuals with a learning disability
  • Individuals with a physical disability
