About Blair House

Blair House provides assessment and support for adults living with different degrees of learning disabilities. Our grade II listed building, set next to the ancient Roman Kae Dyke, has been extensively refurbished and extended to provide enviable accommodation in four self-contained living areas.

Our approach to support:

At Blair House, some of the people we support have communication difficulties and can present problems due to the frustration of not being able to make their feelings known. We also support individuals with a range of other difficulties such as epilepsy, Down’s syndrome or early onset dementia. We aim to provide each individual with a safe, manageable, and comfortable environment.

With the support of our trained staff, we provide a level of support which assists people in maximising their physical, intellectual, and emotional potential as well as social capacity. People have unrestricted access to all community support services including health, social services, leisure, and educational facilities. We strive to ensure that the needs and wishes of all people are ascertained, respected, and met wherever possible including ethnic, religious, and cultural factors.

We offer 24/7 specialist nursing/residential care and are committed to providing just enough support to empower people to take control of their lives, and where possible, work towards a level of independence which fits with their skills, confidence and aspirations.

What it’s like to live here:

Situated in a small village on the edge of Fens, Blair House enjoys the benefits of all the local amenities available within Lincolnshire whilst also having easy access to nearby coastal areas.

Blair House has two mini buses, one with a lift for wheelchair access. These buses can be used by the people we support to access various activities that they enjoy on a regular basis. We hold regular meetings so individuals can decide which activities they would like to try.

“I like having meetings when they are fun.” – Person supported by Blair House

Blair House is set in private grounds with a large patio, lawned areas, fruit trees, our own greenhouse and vegetable garden. The garden is an ideal place for individuals to develop and learn new skills as well as to sit and meet family or friends.

Much of the accommodation has been purpose-built with wheelchair access and the provision of facilities for the physically disabled. We have 28 bedrooms with en-suite facilities, and one self-contained flat ideal for one-to-one assessment.
